Monitor whether the requirement to request a redetermination before appealing is a barrier to challenging determinations CPAG argued against the introduction of redeterminations during the passage of the Social Security (Scotland) Act. The pre 2013 DWP system of direct appeal, with a duty to make a more favourable decision and lapse the appeal worked well.
