The 2022/23 audit of the Scottish Prison Service
The Committee took evidence from the Auditor General on the section 22 report on 1 February 2024, drawing on the work of the Session 5 Public Audit and Post-legislative Scrutiny Committee on the 2018/19 audit of the Scottish Prison Service (SPS).
The court decision, that the definition of 'woman' in section 2 of the 2018 Act was outside the legislative competence of the Scottish Parliament and was not lawful, has had effect from 19 April 2022.
