I was going to use the analogy of the Financial Services Authority in relation to banks, but that is perhaps not the best example. The FSA has perhaps not always been the best at ensuring that such things do not happen.
The arrangements are very similar indeed. The FIAG did its best to advise the CSG—which in turn advised ministers and Parliament—on how such matters should be organised.
