The Bill was introduced by the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Humza Yousaf MSP. The Health, Social Care and Sport Committee was designated as the lead Committee by the Parliamentary Bureau for Stage 1 scrutiny of the Bill.
The Committee's recommendation along with the UK's departure from the EU means that scrutiny of the Scottish Government’s international policies present an opportunity in Session 6. Through scrutiny, it is possible MSPs will be able to influence the geographic focus and policy aims of the Scottish Government.
Disabled Children and Young People (Transitions to Adulthood) (Scotland) Bill
On 30 September 2020, Johann Lamont MSP lodged the Disabled Children and Young People (Transitions to Adulthood) (Scotland) Bill.
It is a Member's Bill and the Member in Charge is Richard Lyle MSP. The Local Government and Communities Committee was appointed lead committee to report to Parliament on the general principles of the Bill at Stage 1.
