He is quite right.The committee made a recommendation on labelling for Scottish farm produce. In the Liberal Democrat manifesto, we advocated local accreditation schemes for locally produced food, to encourage greater links between producer and consumer, to cut food miles and to give people who want to buy local produce the reassurance that they are genuinely supporting local producers.

We should be moving in that direction. I do not want us to produce more waste so please do not take this the wrong way, but because we do not produce huge quantities of waste in certain parts of Scotland, we should be aiming to get premium grade recyclate from the public.
