Official Report Meeting date: 7 March 2006

Finance Committee, 07 Mar 2006

Repeated requests for the report, not only by MSPs but by the Scottish Parliament information centre, resulted in the publication being made available to members on 12 January at 9.10 am.
Official Report Meeting date: 28 February 2006

European and External Relations Committee, 28 Feb 2006

As a result, a number of parliamentarians were inspired to become more involved in the fair trade movement—such matters are not solely for the Executive to address. Since G8, a number of MSPs have taken an interest in promoting fair trade schemes locally by linking with schools and other organisations and by adding their weight to local campaigns to establi...
Official Report Meeting date: 1 November 2005

Justice 1 Committee and Justice 2 Committee (Joint Meeting), 01 Nov 2005

I would love to be able to put dates on a whole range of things; however, with all due respect, it would be wrong of me to do so for reasons that you, as the local MSP, are well aware of. We are trying to take the matter forward.
Official Report Meeting date: 28 June 2005

Equal Opportunities Committee, 28 Jun 2005

I have noted their comments and hope to be able to address the committee's questions.I do not understate the importance of the issues that have been raised and the challenge that we face in addressing them. As an Executive, and as MSPs committed to an equal Scotland, we must be concerned when evidence comes forward in the shape that it has.
Official Report Meeting date: 22 March 2005

Subordinate Legislation Committee, 22 Mar 2005

Official Report Meeting date: 25 January 2005

Subordinate Legislation Committee, 25 Jan 2005

Ultimately, that is not a policy task. MSPs should not be wasting their time on getting language right.
Official Report Meeting date: 11 January 2005

Equal Opportunities Committee, 11 Jan 2005

I should add that we circulated a copy of the consultation paper to every MSP, asking them to consult and to give their responses, too.
Official Report Meeting date: 26 October 2004

Audit Committee, 26 Oct 2004

Is there any early warning system for that or do MSPs simply have to ask questions constantly on the whereabouts of the information?
Official Report Meeting date: 28 September 2004

Audit Committee, 28 Sep 2004

I presume that such a debate, during which we might present an annual report, would last an hour and a half or so. That would allow MSPs to pick up on different aspects of the reports that we have published and the work that we have done.
Official Report Meeting date: 9 September 2003

Finance Committee, 09 Sep 2003

However, I suspect that it is not of interest just to me and Dundee, but to many other MSPs as well. Although there is merit in reviewing the policy position and how that has been operationalised in the past four years, I would be unhappy if the committee got into reviewing individual cases.
