*S6M-15458 Claire Baker: Congratulating Fife Gingerbread on Winning Living Wage UK Scotland’s Living Hours Award—That the Parliament congratulates Fife Gingerbread, which is based in Glenrothes, Fife, on winning Living Wage UK Scotland’s Living Hours Award; understands that the awards recognise employers who go beyond the government minimum wage and celebrate employers who support the Living Wage movement and their employees, providing security of hours alongside a real Living Wage; acknowledges that the Living Wage Foundation has developed a new standard and accreditation for employers that can offer "Living Hours"; understands that this includes adequate notice periods for shifts of at least four weeks, with guaranteed payment if shifts are cancelled within this notice period, the right to a contract that reflects accurate hours worked, and a guaranteed minimum of 16 hours a week, unless the worker requests otherwise; believes that Fife Gingerbread is a vital and valuable service providing information, advice and support services to lone parents and families in Fife; commends Fife Gingerbread for, it believes, protecting its employees from in-work poverty, for its continued commitment to its Living Wage accreditation over the last nine years, flexible working approach, employee assistance programme and its Living Hours accreditation this year; is grateful to Fife Gingerbread for, it understands, ensuring fair hours alongside fair pay for its employees and for encouraging other businesses and organisations to challenge themselves to take these important steps, and extends its very best wishes to Fife Gingerbread for continued success in the future.
