Introduction
The Civil Litigation (Expenses and Group Proceedings) (Scotland) Bill (“the Bill”) was introduced in the Scottish Parliament on 1 June 2017.
Owners, tenants and occupiers of Deer Forests and Shooting Rights will be able to benefit from the 1.6% universal non-domestic rates relief in 2020-21, which will apply automatically to their non-domestic rates bills.

Changes in this area would usually come through in a Law Commission bill. As the petitioner is present, I point out that it might be worth exploring the member’s bill route and engaging a sponsoring member of Parliament to pursue the issue.

The Government’s proposals for a statutory redress scheme do not base eligibility on either age or health status, and if the Bill is approved will permit wider applications.

To ask the Scottish Government whether principle (d) in the Social Security (Scotland) Bill will allow agency staff to provide people with one-to-one support and help them understand what reserved benefits they are entitled to.
