I am not clear about what the member is suggesting but if I was to do everything that he wants, I am sure that there would be a large number of MSPs standing up to tell me that I was not meeting unmet need in their constituency.

I am sympathetic to that too, but the organisation needs to be funded first because it is surviving on what it can raise through benefits.As individual MSPs, we should do what we can to support the organisation to find its way through the funding streams—we all know how difficult that can be.

It would be possible for the committee to focus the minds of complainers or MSPs who are complained against on the timing and format of submissions or representations in guidance that it issues, even in the form of a letter to the persons concerned in a complaint at any particular stage.
