Official Report Meeting date: 5 February 2002

Justice 1 Committee, 05 Feb 2002

It could be interpreted as allowing a public authority to destroy a lot of information. If an organisation knew that an MSP or somebody else was on the warpath about a particular issue, people within the organisation could destroy documents and say that the people at the sharp end where destruction takes place had not received the request for information.
Official Report Meeting date: 19 December 2001

Justice 1 Committee, 19 Dec 2001

I hope that there will always be complaints, because I think that they are a healthy thing. As MSPs, we say that as well. An organisation that receives a lot of complaints is not a bad organisation—it is one that is open to receiving consumer feedback.
Official Report Meeting date: 28 November 2001

Enterprise and Lifelong Learning Committee, 28 Nov 2001

I had the distinct impression that businesses felt that the information that they had collated had not fed through to public policy and the way in which policy was devised. MSPs responded that Future Skills Scotland has been established and must be given time.

Official Report Meeting date: 23 May 2001

Justice 2 Committee, 23 May 2001

I am attracted to the second option as I do not particularly want to focus on freemasonry. MSPs and our assistants are required to declare whether they are members of any organisations or have any interests, pecuniary or otherwise.
Official Report Meeting date: 16 May 2001

Justice 1 Committee and Justice 2 Committee (Joint Meeting), 16 May 2001

The issue has been raised with me as an MSP. I will put it in stronger terms; it has been suggested—it is the committee's overall impression—that there are more and more pressures, and that we are reaching breaking point.
Official Report Meeting date: 2 May 2001

Justice 1 Committee, 02 May 2001

Given that Fergus Ewing, the local MSP, and the petitioners are here, will we have an opportunity to hear from them before we consider the matter?
Official Report Meeting date: 1 May 2001

Local Government Committee, 01 May 2001

Robert Kilgour is making the point that we do not accept that the scheme will be self-financing. Our job is to lobby MSPs and ministers to try to get them to rethink the scheme.
