The Cabinet Secretary stated:

What support works? Inquiry into attainment and achievement of school children experiencing poverty - How can education be 'poverty proofed'?
JRF looked at the percentage of young people from the most deprived areas attaining five or more Level 5 passes across different local authorities. It found that while in the best performing local authorities (East Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire) the percentage was over 50%, in one (Aberdeenshire), it was less than 20%.
