Guidance on Motions: data protection

The DPA allows processing of personal data where it is “necessary for the exercise of a function of either House of Parliament” but the Scottish Parliament and its Members cannot rely on this exemption which preserves Parliamentary privilege only for the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
