As you may be aware, the Committee has previously taken evidence from the relevant Cabinet Secretary for Finance on the MTFS and related Scottish Fiscal Commission Forecasts.
This met the Scottish Fiscal Commission’s deadline and they have confirmed that this gives them the information they need to support their May forecasts. Given the tight timescales involved, and as the Scottish Fiscal Commission is aware, the data has not been fully quality assured.
It would therefore be grateful for an explanation as to: • why the Scottish Government considers that different provision will be required to be made in respect of some children who reach the age of 18 whilst in a secure accommodation in order that they may remain there and not others; and • what circumstances it envisages setting out in regulations.
