However, I welcome to the meeting two non-members of the committee: Alasdair Morgan MSP and Alex Fergusson MSP. Alex is the constituency MSP for the area and Alasdair is a regional MSP for the area.
I suspect that the paper refers only to MSPs and the parties. Any bill will be helped by having broad support, but there could be reasons why some bills that do not have broad support should still be able to be introduced.
It is my understanding that the balance of natural and artificial light has not changed in the MSPs' rooms. It was always envisaged that there would be a lot of natural light.
The people who gave evidence included older people, middle-aged people, young people and even a teenager. MSPs from all parties—not just members of the committee, but other MSPs from the Borders—were present.
In some parts of the building, the lights go off and on automatically in response to movement. That is not the case in the MSP block. Some lights in the MSP block, in both the corridors and our staff's offices, are on permanently.
