As I said in the letter, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is still considering the name of the new maternity unit and it will make a decision on that in due course. I expect the board to take account of the representations on the matter that have been made to it by Pauline McNeill, Sandra White and others before taking a decision.

The resources that are available to the Scottish Government will not increase in 2010-11. Even after accounting for the expected lower rate of inflation, the Scottish Government's budget will still fall by 0.9 per cent in real terms between 2009-10 and 2010-11.

For us to extend licensing to holiday lets could do enormous damage to the tourism industry in Scotland, including to the Edinburgh festival, which accounts for a lot of holiday lets. The minister has to listen to the residents of the city as well as to the tourism industry.

Will she specifically challenge the Labour education spokesperson, Jonathan Findlay, who bizarrely defends higher class sizes as providing "larger and more flexible learning groups", and suggest to him that he should listen to his Labour counterpart on the City of Edinburgh Council, Councillor Andrew Burns, who believes that it is common sense to take account of Government class size targets in relation to any proposed school closures?
