Is there anything that we can do to disallow lobbyists from their activities with MSPs for a time? I know that that would be problematic, but it seems that we are at two extremes.
For example, one of the submissions suggested that because we are a small Parliament of 129 MSPs, there will inevitably be friendships, especially within parties, that might cause potential difficulties.
After all, if one were being cynical, one might take the view that it is in the interests of the MSPs concerned to kill off the matter as early as possible.

Since the Scottish Executive insists "that patients who can afford to should … contribute towards NHS dispensing costs",I would have expected the First Minister to say categorically that no MSP qualifies for free NHS prescriptions.
Will she give an undertaking to work with local MSPs to plot a way forward for the service in Grampian and perhaps agree to a meeting with a cross-party group of MSPs to discuss the matter?
Does the Deputy First Minister agree that, if Lord James and his party had won the general election in 1997, there would be no devolution, no Scottish Parliament, no MSPs and, most certainly, no Tory MSPs?
