The legacy commissions had the same problem. We do our best to explain the difference between discrimination and human rights issues, and the kind of services that we provide, but we continue to get calls that are not relevant.
We think that legislating in Scotland would provide us with the best opportunity to get the law right; the 2004 legislation was passed by the Scottish Parliament through a Sewel motion.
That allows the Parliament to examine what has worked well and what it can do better, with the aim of making this Parliament the best that it can be for the people of Scotland.
