Membership changes
The following changes to the Committee’s membership occurred during the Committee’s scrutiny:
On 2 April 2025, Joe FitzPatrick MSP replaced Keith Brown MSP as a member of the Committee
On 26 June 2025, Paul McLennan MSP replaced Joe FitzPatrick MSP as a member of the Committee.
The committee discussed the matter on 16 April and agreed to write to Jack McConnell MSP, asking whether the First Minister supported those assurances.
All those responsibilities were to be carried out by the Presiding Officer, four other MSPs and the two Deputy Presiding Officers, who also attend the corporate body meetings—a grand total of seven MSPs.

We deliberately have members from all parties on the group and I hope that the group will be augmented. All MSPs are welcome. We want to be as open as possible and I hope that MSPs will encourage as much activity around tartan day as possible in the areas that they represent.
On resuming— Our next panel consists of Tricia Marwick MSP, the business manager for the Scottish National Party, and Scott Barrie MSP, the chief whip of the Labour group.
The time limit for parliamentary action therefore expires on 10 May 2001. Any MSP may lodge a motion to propose to the lead committee that the order be annulled.
