Although the number of people in Scotland who die from solvent abuse is far smaller than the number who die from drug abuse, any death is one too many.
The issue has a lot to do with fire risk statistics and how to target the most vulnerable groups of people. Relatively few of the people who die in fires die in public buildings; sadly, most of them die in their own homes.
The second point that came across strongly was the need to address public health and women's rights. Thousands of children die in Africa every day because of poverty and lack of health care, and 5,000 women die in Africa every week during childbirth.
Will he acknowledge that the gap between the rich and poor has never been wider and that 30,000 children die each day from preventable diseases—a figure that throughout history has never been higher?
