Introduction
The Children (Care and Justice) Scotland Bill ("the Bill") was introduced in the Scottish Parliament on 13 December 2022.
The Bill makes changes to the law in relation to the care of children and the involvement of children in the criminal justice system.

Background to the Bill
The Bill is a UK Government Bill which was introduced in the House of Lords on 6 July 2022.
The Bill contains 270 clauses and 20 schedules, divided into 13 parts, each of which regulates disparate areas of the law connected to energy provision.
