In thinking about that, it is perhaps helpful to distinguish between withdrawal—that is, what will happen next March—and the future relationship. The draft withdrawal agreement that the UK Government has been negotiating with the EU, which has been published, envisages that, broadly speaking, we will maintain the current arrangements until December 2020, although there will be some detriments compared with our current position, for example in the potential for other member states not to extradite their nationals to the UK after March 2019.
