Was it, too, concerned and not confident about the society? Is it concerned that MSPs including me and Jim Tolson, who, along with Willie Rennie, wrote to the chief executive the moment the news first broke two weeks ago, did not receive answers to our letters?

You must be forceful about this and say that we need this law to benefit our children, even if they do not wish to benefit theirs down south. If our MSPs voted on the matter and secured a majority, that would surely be enough to take it forward regardless of what Westminster thinks.

Part of the solution would be to assess the impact of the single outcome agreements on people's human rights and on the vulnerable groups in the community that I mentioned earlier. As a constituency MSP, I would always defend the right of local people to speak up for their local patch, but I will play devil's advocate.
