Our approach and work
In session 4, the first Sub-Committee on Policing was established on 13 March 2013. It focussed on how particular aspects of policing were working under the new arrangements.
The necessary regulations to do this (the Environmental Protection (Injurious Articles) (Fixed Penalty Notices and Miscellaneous Amendments) (Scotland) Regulations 2025) came into force in March 2025. The ban on the sale and supply of single-use vapes subsequently came into force in Scotland on 1 June 2025.
In a letter to the Convener of the Justice Committee, dated 15 March 2019, the Scottish Government set out information on its plans for creating a new offence of remaining unlawfully at large and amending existing powers of arrest.2Scottish Government. (2019, March 15).
