Indeed, the club is an important part of the community and it is involved in many local projects such as street stuff, which helps people who live in areas that are hotspots for anti-social behaviour problems to play football. Over the years, that project has done very well and it is that community spirit that has led the project to win more awards than the football club.The St Mirren Independent Supporters Association has been going since the late 1990s, which was a very difficult time for the club.
