SP Bill 73 Session 5 (2020) 2 Post-mortem Examinations (Defence Time Limit) (Scotland) Bill 291B Extension of time limit (1) This section applies where— (a) the defence post-mortem period has started, and (b) the accused has not notified the prosecutor under section 291A(2)(b) 5 that the accused will not exercise their right to instruct a post-mortem examination. (2) On an application made prior to expiry of the defence post-mortem period, the court may, on cause shown, extend the defence post-mortem period. (3) On an application made after that period has expired, the court may grant an 10 extension to the period, but only if— (a) the court is satisfied that there are special circumstances which justify granting the extension, and (b) the body of the deceased person has not been released under section 291C. 15 (4) An extension under subsection (2) or (3) may— (a) be for a period of up to 14 days as the court considers appropriate beginning with the later of— (i) the date...

C HAPTER 2 S TRATEGIC PLANNING The Scottish Government 6 Strategic planning by the Scottish Ministers (1) Subsection (2) applies if, by virtue of regulations under section 27, 28, or 29— (a) the Scottish Ministers have the function of providing a service, or (b) the function of their providing a service is designated as a National Care Service function. (2) The Scottish Ministers must— (a) have a strategic plan, and (b) make their latest plan publicly available. (3) The Scottish Ministers’ strategic plan is a document setting out, for the period of the plan, their— (a) arrangements for providing the service referred to in subsection (1), (b) vision for the service, draft 2024-06-21 8 National Care Service (Scotland) Bill Part 1—The National Care Service Chapter 2—Strategic planning (c) objectives in relation to the service, (d) budget projections in relation to the service, (e) ethical commissioning strategy in relation to the service. The Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES), continues to play a central role in supporting communities to engage with, participate in, and benefit from Scotland’s transition to net zero emissions.In 2024-25, CARES Recovery funding delivered or supported 154 projects across all of its funding calls.In 2025-26 to date, CARES Recovery funding has so far delivered or supported an estimated 264 projects through its funding calls.
