Background to the Bill

The Scottish Government currently has no plans to introduce regulations under the Act. However, involvement in local football clubs can be important to communities and that is why the First Minister recently launched the Fan Bank on 31 May 2023.
That applies particularly to football clubs outside the top five or six positions, which receive little by way of finance from the television companies.
