I am also glad to see that that is a Scottish Government priority, which could begin in 2014 with a species-by-species approach.As MSP for Avoch, in the Black Isle, and Skye and Lochaber, which have substantial fishing interests, I believe that local communities also deserve a louder voice on fisheries policy.

We should support amendment 53, because what it proposes would send out a clear message to all those who engage with the land register in a more general sense. It would allow MSPs to examine regularly the level of resource and support, and the Government direction, that would be required to ensure that the targets are met.
