S6M-13339: Keith Brown: Establishing a Banking Hub in Alloa— That the Parliament notes with concern the decision of the TSB to close nine branches across Scotland, including the Alloa branch; further notes that this is the latest in a number of bank closures across the Clackmannanshire and Dunblane constituency, which it 11 PB/S6/24/154 believes will leave Alloa town centre with only two cash machines and the entirety of Clackmannanshire, an area with a population of around 52,000, with only one high street bank; acknowledges what it considers to be the significant impact that this closure will have on local residents and businesses who rely on high street banks for access to cash and banking services; notes the belief that the establishment of a banking hub, such as those currently operating in Cambuslang, Carluke, Troon, and numerous other locations across Scotland, could be a viable long-term solution for access to banking services in Alloa and Clackmannanshire; recognises that LINK is the organisation that recommends the location of such hubs, and notes the calls urging it to give consideration to establishing one in Alloa.
