Although it is not considered an inherited genetic disease, there may be genetic factors that we simply do not understand.MS is almost unknown in places such as Malaysia or Ecuador, but it is very common in the UK—and particularly in Scotland—North America, Canada, Scandinavia, southern Australia and New Zealand.I want to highlight some of the great work that the MS Society has done. It has produced the wonderful “My MS, My Needs” report, which gives us a picture of what is happening around the country and gives us cause for concern and food for thought.
