We all want greater take-up of self-directed support but, as an MSP who sometimes has service users contact me to ask for assistance, I am struck by the fact that, particularly for autistic young adults who are at the more severe end of the spectrum, self-directed support is not necessarily about the person taking decisions, but their parents or carers.
