Collectively, those people represent the expertise that has made Scottish salmon rivers the envy of the world. Surely it is the job of MSPs to listen to the evidence of experts before they make up their minds, and not just to use committees as stages on which to display their personal prejudices?

Our decision to accept a restricted right of appeal to the Court of Session should reassure MSPs and others who have followed the bill closely that the commission will be a properly accountable body.A welcome feature of the Parliament's consideration of the bill is the consensus that has been built on key issues.

You have concerns about specific proposals, but there is general recognition of the need to respond to some of the antisocial behaviour issues that communities face, particularly in relation to young people. All MSPs realise that not all antisocial Scots are young people.
