In this context, the Committee welcomed the introduction of the Housing (Cladding Remediation) (Scotland) Bill. The primary purpose of this Bill was to expedite the cladding remediation programme.
The Committee considered however that the Bill could be strengthened by the inclusion of a mechanism to support Parliamentary scrutiny of to what extent Scotland remains aligned with EU environmental law.
