Let us say that I have a son who is 19, and I am living in England and a taxpayer there, but he has told the authorities up here that he is resident in Scotland, and he is getting free tuition and not having to pay fees.

I have particular sympathy for those with neurological conditions because the palliative care that we offer is not yet good enough. My close friend’s son was diagnosed with motor neurone disease at the age of 30.

I should say that the business that I own, which is run by my son, does not qualify for the scheme as it distributes from three locations across Scotland, and combining the rates of all three takes the business beyond the qualifying threshold for the scheme.
