The issue that has been raised in evidence is that the NHS is quite often at fault. Last week, some MSPs met a group of carers who talked about the NHS involving carers when someone was about to leave hospital, to ensure that they were referred to services and were receiving support.

It looks like a very good job. Parliamentary researchers are MSPs’ right-hand men or women, they are very close to the ultimate decision maker, they see a vast range of activities and get a huge range of experience, they are probably conversant on a dozen or more policy topics and they will know a great many people.

I would like a situation where the sea anglers can catch fish and the prawn trawlers and the dredgers can still go on with sustainability, but I am an MSP for the Highlands and Islands and I have had more concerns expressed to me about this consultation than about any other fisheries issue that I have ever had to deal with.
