In March, to tie in with Scottish Tourism week, Skills Development Scotland held the Scottish Tourism Careers Festival which ran many events around the country designed to encourage young people to consider careers within the sector.

However, NHS boards are expected to meet the ministerial commitment to provide 25% of young people with type 1 diabetes with an insulin pump by March 2013. The Scottish Government has therefore provided NHS boards with funding of £2.5 million to support the purchase of insulin pumps and associated consumables for people with type 1 diabetes in 2012-13.
