I find that curious, because I am absolutely committed to ensuring that the funds get into farmers’ bank accounts on time. I clearly remember—as anyone who was involved in agriculture at the time will—that, when we transitioned from the previous single-farm payment to the basic payment scheme, there were massive delays, which caused mayhem in farmers’ bank accounts and cash flows.
