With my colleague Rhoda Grant, I fought hard against the closure of the Inverness control room, which serves the Highlands and Islands, and I know that many of my Labour colleagues—and indeed MSPs from across the Parliament, including Mary Scanlon—also fought against the closures in their respective areas.

No parent should experience that, but the loss of a healthy infant suddenly and without explanation must be absolutely devastating and beyond heartbreaking. That is why all MSPs should be grateful that the Scottish Cot Death Trust is there to support bereaved parent constituents in such circumstances.
