Official Report Meeting date: 23 March 2021

Meeting of the Parliament (Hybrid) 23 March 2021

Since the original committee leaks months ago, through multiple instances of MSPs on that committee prejudging the evidence and announcing their political motivations to the world, and then to the disgraceful betrayal of trust of the original complainants during the past weekend, what should have been a serious inquiry has descended into farce.

COVID-19 Committee 18 February 2021

The strategy has had to change to respond to the new variant, and I am not sure that that has been communicated as effectively as the previous message. I will now turn to Alex Rowley MSP for his questions. I would like to focus on the action to mitigate the societal impacts of the virus.

Local Government and Communities Committee 29 January 2020

Some people will be doing early triage, so the case load is not split evenly across the resource. I ask because, as MSPs, we all get cases to deal with. I have three surgeries this Saturday, and I do not know how many people are going to walk through the door.
Official Report Meeting date: 8 January 2020

Meeting of the Parliament 08 January 2020

Motion debated, That the Parliament acknowledges the unanimous passing of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (SCR1325) on 31 October 2000 on Women, Peace and Security; notes that it was the first resolution to specifically address the impact of war on women and women’s important contribution to peace; acknowledges that it commits all UN member states to valuing, understanding and including women in the promotion of international peace, security and conflict resolution, including through the provision of secure spaces and sanctuary for women affected by conflict, involving women in international decision making and noting the abilities of women in resolving international and national conflicts; understands that some nations have developed action plans to implement the resolution, which has three principle aims, preventing gender-based violence, promoting the role of women in international peace building and implementing women-specific gender-based policies to protect women from conflict; considers that Scotland is already making significant progress in achieving these aims, including through it having a gender-balanced cabinet, its establishment of national advisory groups on human rights and women’s and girls’ issues and the adoption of polices of peace and the promotion of women internationally; acknowledges the view that more must still be done by governments both in the UK and around the world to achieve all of SCR1325’s goals, and welcomes opportunities to discuss how best to reach these objectives. 17:05 I am pleased to bring forward an important and timely debate on United Nations Security Council resolution 1325, on women, peace and security. I thank MSP...

We will start with questions from Gil Paterson MSP. I want to ask a general question that might assist the general public.
Official Report Meeting date: 12 June 2019

Finance and Constitution Committee 12 June 2019

To kick off each part, I will ask an MSP to introduce it and we can get into a free-flowing discussion and exchange of views that will be valuable to the committee.

Meeting of the Parliament 05 June 2019

I am not a practitioner in safety but, in the position that I have had as a councillor and now as an MSP, I feel that I should promote it.
