In addition, the budget submission highlights that “MSP salaries continue to sit below counterparts in Westminster and the Senedd”, adding “over the period 2021-22 to 2026-27, MSP pay is lagging 8.2 percentage points below CPI5 which equates to c£5,300 over the period or a 2026-27 MSP salary of c£83,000 rather than £77,710 had indexation been in line with CPI”.
