We have used a number of factors, rather than relying too much on medicines. Medicine usage has gone down, and a number of alternative methods of reducing settlement and of dealing with sea lice once they are on the fish have been used.
The decision on whether to prescribe a medicine for a patient, and which medicine to prescribe, is entirely one for the clinician in charge of a patient’s care to make, having taken into account the patient’s clinical condition and their safety.
Medicines Information Systems
The Bill would enable the Secretary of State to make regulations for the establishment of a medicine information system to allow information on medicines to be analysed and tracked.
