The University of Glasgow, which runs the lab, is very concerned, with funding streams shifting and ending, that it will not be able to provide the 24-hour support that it provides now.

Integration Joint Boards should be reformed to take responsibility for planning, commissioning and procurement and should employ Chief Officers and other relevant staff. They should be funded directly by the Scottish Government.?
This has broadly been committed to a DevelopmentFund which has made between £1m to £1.5m available per annum to a number of local third sector, LAs and NHS Boards who have been funded to develop autism services.
We recommend that the Scottish Government takes forward this approach, particularly given we heard that capacity challenges (such as a reducing workforce) increase Government reliance on external organisations to inform its policy making.
That applies at the pre-school stage, where the introduction of a level playing field for the roll-out of the 1,140 hours of funded early learning should include funding for healthy meals.
