The briefing note was forwarded by Scottish Government officials to SEPA for background information and comment following the approaches made by MSPs to the First Minister and others.
To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S3W-5588 by Michael Russell on 31 October 2007, whether members of the public or MSPs can access the noise maps referred to and, if so, how this may be done.
We are all very appreciative of the work that has been done. Speaking as a constituency MSP, I have noticed a huge difference, compared to a few years ago, in the responsiveness and service that we are getting from the local police, so I absolutely agree that progress has been made.
I would say that, as a Highlands and Islands MSP, I sometimes suffer from IT issues, but unfortunately I am in Edinburgh at the moment, so there is no real excuse there.
I have relayed information to and had regular contacts with local MSPs and MPs. After my first meeting, I wrote to them to explain the context of legal advice for the Scottish Government in relation to what we would do, particularly in a situation in which no other investment is available.
I want to be reassured that families that are on significant incomes, such as those of MSPs, will not qualify for the £100 payment while some families that are on universal credit miss out.
For the benefit of those people watching the session, who will not have reviewed all the documents to which we, as MSPs, have access, can somebody outline the estimated cost of setting up and operating the scheme?
