To ask the Scottish Government whether it will provide an update on any significant case review into the murder of Esther Brown, as referred to by the First Minister in the Scottish Parliament on 18 November 2021.
I thank the cabinet secretary for his answer, and I am grateful for the time that his colleague Keith Brown gave me when we met in June to discuss the difficulties that were faced by Edgen Murray Europe, which is a significant employer in my constituency that manufactures steel components exclusively for the oil industry.
However, that is not the case. I have just set out what Keith Brown set out yesterday—that ministers became aware on 26 May that the contractors were looking at the weather impacts.
Most recently, David was my head of office, taking over from another good egg, Andrew Brown. We often spend more time with our staff here than we do with our families and friends.
Members will recall that the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Veterans, Keith Brown, indicated that he would update the committee on on-going review of the regulations after three months.
I do not think that there is any point in us wasting Mr Brown’s time. We heard a statement from him recently and were assured that there would be updates.
