To ask the Presiding Officer what action the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body plans to take in order to ensure that MSPs' constituency offices have adequate access for disabled people and facilities for those with a sensory impairment.
We learned of those concerns only through media reports in the past few days and, given the level of concern, it is appropriate that the committee ask further questions. I agree. Farmers have approached MSPs on the issue, so there is obviously strong feeling on it.Is it agreed that we ask for further information?
Hugh Murdoch mentioned the difficulties that councils face; I can assure him that MSPs face just the same problems. After all, roads are deteriorating and the backlog is increasing all the time.
Like Maureen Macmillan, I am a Highlands and Islands MSP. I bring to the committee's attention the strength of feeling and concern among ordinary people in the Highlands and Islands.
We are dealing with shifting sands and we cannot fix these provisions. As MSPs, we will receive various representations from people on the regulations.
Does any member wish to comment on their own experience? At the moment, any MSP representing a sheep farming community will have been made aware of the severity of the situation in the industry.
