To ask the Scottish Government, further to the answer to question S5W-32700 by Richard Lochhead on 18 November 2020, whether it will provide the information that was requested regarding what support it can provide to students who are unable to access jobs that they have to support their studies in the event they are required to self-isolate for two weeks before the Christmas holidays. The Scottish Government recognises that this has been and continues to be an extremely difficult time for students, particularly for those who would normally have taken up employment opportunities during their studies.

This is in addition to the existing grant of up to £105 per week to help with accommodation costs in the summer holidays between years of study. Universities are taking forward the Commission on Widening Access’ recommendation to ensure that those with a care experience who meet the minimum entry requirements are offered a place at university.
