Members indicated agreement. Our next meeting will be on 10 March, when we will hold a final round-up session with the chief constable and the chair of the Scottish Police Authority.
This is the end of January and you said that all the posts would be going by March, but you say that you have not yet discussed the matter with the unions.
We could defer consideration of the petition until March next year and request that the committee be copied into the Scottish Government’s report to the Public Audit Committee.
However, we understand that the commission will report on the progress of the transition to individual electoral registration following the publication on the register on 2 March. I am sure that we are all concerned that the register should be as complete as possible.
Can the First Minister tell the people of Scotland what talks John Swinney was referring to? When—since March—did they take place? Who conducted them and at what level?
