The national standards for Clinical Governance and Risk Management reflect best practice and state that there should be an open and responsive approach to risk management which actively involves patients, the public, staff and other stakeholders.
However, this should only be permitted if this is in the young person's best interests and is not contrary to the best interests of other children within the secure care facility.
On the other hand, the tool also shows that if all the examples of best practice are followed and the best restoration possible is put in, the situation can be significantly improved.
