If a person wants to do sport or another activity that they are interested in, interpreters allow them to make connections with people so that they can start going and getting involved in sport, cooking or arts and crafts—whatever it is that they want to do.
If we could design those correctly, could they not be beneficial by ensuring that money from local economic activitygets invested in those towns, cities and local environments?
Much of our capacity is taken up with emergencies and urgent cases. We are doing everything we can to get the level of activity back up, although Jackie Baillie is probably correct that it is unlikely to increase within the next few weeks.
I would have to get a work permit, and that would very much depend on the vagaries of French law, including whether the university could show that it could not get a suitable European to do the job.
Workforce planning is part and parcel of our current activity. We will draw that information together, take an initial view and ask our stakeholders how quickly they think we should be getting through the work.
