Scottish Human Rights Commission
The Scottish Human Rights Commission (SHRC) was established under the Scottish Commission for Human Rights Act 2006, and is accountable to the people of Scotland, through the Scottish Parliament.
The Continuity Act established a new body - a non-ministerial office, accountable to the Parliament - called Environmental Standards Scotland (ESS), designed to provide "continuity of environmental governance".
A wellbeing approach is necessary… and we need to further embed a human rights based approach to recovery, underpinned by the key principles of participation, accountability, non-discrimination, empowerment and law.
