I encouraged the people whom I met to engage with MSPs in the north-east to ensure that the MSPs understand at first hand from the patients and their families how best to get across the information that MSPs should consider.

The remit, agreed by the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body (SPCB), of themember of staff based in Brussels on a fixed term basis for one year from April 2003 is:to research and produce a report to the SPCB on the options for and the practical aspects of establishing a more permanent Scottish Parliament presence in Brussels, to provide support for MSPs who serve as delegates to the Committee of the Regions and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities in Europe, andto support visiting MSPs on parliamentary business.

I have been assured that the contingency plans were designed with the involvement of clinical and support staff at both the Vale of Leven and Royal Alexandra Hospitals, as well as local general practitioners.I understand that the chairman and chief executive of the NHS board briefed the local constituency MP and MSPs on the contingency plans from 7 May.

No additional permanent posts have been created in or transferred to Tayside since 6 May 1999.The Executive's policy on location and relocation of civil service jobs remains as set out by the First Minister in his answer of 15 September 1999 (question S1W-1558, Mr Duncan McNeil MSP). My answer of 6 July 2000 (S1W-8578, Karen Gillon MSP) set out the action the Executive plans to take over the summer to consider the location of a number of bodies covered by the policy.
